Director Comment: An accomplished realist painter Cox was attracted to painting still life subjects. His eye for capturing detail is reminiscent of an earlier era of artists with attention given to the floral arrangement and vase which is further highlighted by a dark background.

Meticulous brush strokes are a feature of his work where the composition has highlights throughout.

Very little of his work comes to the market and from our research this is a fine example of his style.
