CHG Director’s Statement: Landscape painter Tim Storrier is considered one of Australia's leading artists. He won the 2012 Archibald Prize with a self-portrait entitled ‘The Histrionic Wayfarer’. The 'faceless' self-portrait proved a controversial choice by the judges.
Tim Storrier was a Trustee of the Art Gallery of New South Wales; he was awarded the Order of Australia AM for his services to art; and a Doctor of Arts (Hons.) from Charles Sturt University, New South Wales.
In 2010, Storrier’s “Evening” was auctioned for a record price of $248,000.
