Artist Statement: The style of my work can be described as Expressionism, the distortion of both colour and form to exaggerate feelings is in keeping with my preferred way of working, I have looked very close at most German expressionist. Tony Costa.

CHG Director's Statement: Tony Costa won the Paddington Art Prize for Landscape painting in 2014. He has been a finalist in the Wynne Prize, the Sulman Prize, and the William Dobell Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW. Tony was a finalist in the 2015 Art gallery of NSW Archibald Prize, and his portrait paintings have also been selected for the Doug Moran Portrait prize and the Kilgour Portrait prize.
