Girls with hibiscus in their hair
Exhibition Statement: "I love hibiscus, the colours they present in are stunning, these flowers were my first glance of the exotic before I came to Australia, (sad to hear they are no longer fashionable!) And the sumptuously colourful and heady tropical mango fruits were my first taste of the exotic. I took a delight in imagining these flowers and fruits presented by three beautiful islanders against Australia’s glorious blue sky. Ah! Gaugin, your influence lives on.." - John Maitland.
