Artist Statement: In this painting I've gone all out to capture the joy and exhilaration the child on the swing experiences as she goes ever higher, a mix of fear and excitement!

The colour blue mixed with metalic silver was selected to impart a feeling of lightness airiness and energy to the work. -John Maitland.
