CHG Directors Statement: Jason Benjamin is an Australian painter. Benjamin was born in Melbourne in 1971. Jason has been exhibiting since 1989.
From his first group show in downtown Manhattan in 1989 and into 2016 he has had over 40 solo shows in Australia, Tokyo, London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Rome.
In April 2005 he was awarded the ‘Packing Room' prize in the nations most important art award, the AGNSW Archibald Prize for his portrait of actor Bill Hunter.
Jason has been a finalist in the Mosman Art Prize in Sydney three times and in 1997 won the prestigious Kings School Art Prize for landscape painting.
