Artist CV: Tom Thompson

Born at Narrabri in New South Wales in 1923, Tom Thompson studied at East Sydney Technical College from 1947 to 1950 and overseas. On his return to Australia he taught at the South Australian School of Art in Adelaide from 1952 to 1955 and at the National Art School, Sydney from 1995 for over 20 years. Known for his major murals he was vice president of the New South Wales Society of Artists and artist in residence at the University of Newcastle.
