CHG Director's Statement: Authentic original Sidney Nolan artwork for sale entitled ‘Gallipoli Series’. This prominent Australian artist is particularly collectable, making his work an outstanding art investment option.

The Australian War Museum holds an extensive collection* of war paintings inspired by the artist series on Gallipoli. In fact their holdings are in excess of 250 artworks of oils, works on paper and drawings. Sidney Nolan produced a publication based on Gallipoli titled ‘Nolan’s Gallipoli’ by Gavin Fr. First published in 1973, by Rigby Publishing house this artwork is most consistent with the theme!

The Anzac Australians would on occasion attack the Turks often in hand to hand combat with bayonets on unloaded rifles! The painting we have for sale here depicts the drama and adrenalin rush of fierce contact.

From an art investment point of view, this Nolan painting is a sound selection. We also have a number of other Sidney Nolan paintings for sale, so please browse our site to inspect.

* Gifted in 1977 by the artist.
