Artist Statement: This exhibition represents a culmination of works completed over the past 20 years. Whereas the style is recognisable, I found changes occurring to be interesting over the period, especially around 2017 where I found myself moving towards a freer more fluid style. I believe art can allow an expansion of the mind, there is so much more to artistic expression than an accurate sketch can represent.
Allowing the abstract mind to find its own way to express a situation or feeling can be 'truer' to real life than any visual accuracy can present. Like music, art can stimulate the mind, you can find things hidden in a composition, you can head things in the image, you can let your mind wander to uncover concealed, possibilities are limitless.
