Congratulations to CHG represented artist Gavin Fry who has been selected as one of twenty-seven talented finalists for the $25,000 R&M McGivern Prize.
The R&M McGivern acquisitive prize is awarded every three years for an outstanding artwork in oil, gouache, acrylic or watercolour. This year’s theme of ‘text’ attracted outstanding entries from over 200 highly respected emerging, mid-career and established artists from Victoria, NSW, Queensland and Tasmania.

This photo is from CHG Director Mark Widdup’s recent visit to Gavin Fry’s studio. Note the artworks from other artists adorning the walls. Gavin draws inspiration from having them around him! On the table is the foundation of his entry for the ANL art prize which will be submitted in September- watch this space!
