Why is she in the air? Perhaps a clue can be deduced from a closer inspection. The dress seems a formal affair, perhaps a bridesmaid’s dress or some other formal occasion. Yet the chair she is above is old and worn. Has she stolen a moment to try on a dress she shouldn’t be wearing? Perhaps it’s after some event where she hasn’t come back down to earth yet.\u003cbr\u003eBefore she returns to her everyday life? Maybe that’s for you the viewer to decide.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCHG Director's Statement: \u003c\/strong\u003eAndrew has been a practicing artist for more than 25 years, with solo exhibitions in Sydney and Melbourne, with selected works included in collections around the world. Andrew works primarily in acrylics on canvas. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eHis interest in painting began in late high school, when his early studies of perspective and still life studies won the Sydney Morning Heral Art Heritage Prize in 1983. He began university studies in physics 1984, but soon switched to fine arts, majoring in painting and photography at the City Institue of Art (now known as College of Fine Arts, UNSW).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSince graduating in 1987, Andrew has pursued his career as a full-time artist, exhibiting regularly in Sydney, Melbourne and the Central Coast.
